I’ve Been Tagged - Reasons Why I Blog

My friend Tay at Super Blogging has tagged me with this task: List 5 reasons why I blog.

  1. Blogging is a natural extension to what I do in everyday life: provide tips on how to make things a little easier, fun, interesting, and productive. That’s not my real job, but something I exercise at the office. I realized I had a knack for helping people with their computer problems, then found a passion for software, and when the Web-wind blew in my hair, I gravitated toward the treasures I’d find there. I find something new everyday and love it.
  2. Learn from others. I love book stores, particularly Barnes & Noble. I’m surrounded by all that knowledge on the shelves. Compare that to the Web and, well, you get the picture.
  3. Break out of my shell. I’ve gone too many years keeping quiet, waiting for others to come to me. Not that they had to prove themselves to me — on the contrary: it was a lack of self-confidence. Not anymore; life’s too short.
  4. Extra cash. Sure, there’s an allure of making money with blogging. It’s not why I do it, but it is definitely a benefit. I won’t ever let it cloud my mission of providing quality content though.
  5. A good hobby. I’ve been known to move from one hobby to another, but I don’t recall staying with one such as blogging this long — since the beginning of 2005. I don’t watch TV as much, and while my body is not exercising, my mind is. (I’m still working on the physical activity thing.)

Thanks! It’s so easy to get caught up in it all and lose sight of what really mattes. It’s quite a struggle, but chipping away at it one piece at a time makes it not seem so intimidating.

I appreciate you stopping by!
