FWW Spotlight #4: Three Sites For Fighting Porn

New here? You may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Never has pornography been so accessible until the Web came along. And never has it had such a stranglehold on individuals. Like a drug, studies have shown that the more you give in to its allure, the more you seek it out, causing a vicious circle that’s hard to break.

But as easy as it is to find porn on the Web, it’s not that difficult to find help to break the addiction to it. No matter if you’re young or old, boy or girl, man or woman, you can fight against this scourge.

These sites are meant to help with that fight, which is why I’m making them my FWW Spotlight #4.

Teens against pornographyTeens Against Pornography
We usually hear about adults suffering from the addiction to porn or struggling with their sexual purity. But this site’s about teens and their addiction and struggles. I congratulate them for stopping this sort of behavior before it takes root and alters the lives quite possibly forever.

This is a very active place as shown by the forum with over 3,000 posts. The people there are very supportive and other resources are listed on related topics.

HigherCalling: the fight against addiction to pornHigher-Calling
This site was started by John, and is geared more toward adults. And what a great resource it is! I found this site a little over a year ago and glad to see it’s still thriving. It has a very active forum with loads of people sharing their troubles and just as many people who are trying to help them out of their darkness. This is definitely one to bookmark for porn addiction sufferers.

Partners for purityPartners for Purity
Read this post in their forum and you’ll get a sense of what this site is all about. Truly heartbreaking, but uplifting at the same time. Porn addiction is hard enough for the person suffering from it, but what about the spouse? They feel betrayed, left to wonder if they’re still married to the person they once knew, if they’ll ever hold that special place in their spouse’s heart again.

With the proliferation of photos and videos online designed to focus on the flesh and how extremely easy it is to find such content, it’s no wonder why so many are affected by this scourge. After all, it’s not as though you’re actually with another person, right? Well, in my opinion, it is and that’s why we must stay strong and seek out resources such as the ones I’ve listed here.

Interesting resources that I hadn’t seen before - thanks for spotlighting them!

Jason

Hi Jason, glad to have found something useful to you. And you, too, have a pretty good resource there yourself.

Thanks so much for stopping by and hope to see you participate again.

Ken:

Thank you for the spotlight! Our site is more extensive than it appears on the outside. Most of our Discussion Forum content is private for members only. Also we have gender-specific sections of the site for additional privacy. I think as adults we forget what it was like to be teens. I remember be hyper-sensitive to what others thought about me. If I had a problem, the last group of people I wanted to know about it was my peer group!

Thanks again for the spotlight! You have an awesome resource as well!

I was just made aware of your spotlight of our ministry and I am humbled and most appreciative. Partners for Purity is a safe haven for many women who can relate to one another in a way that not just any other woman can. It is a Christ centered ministry where we each try to point the hurting the only ONE who can heal them! Again, thank you so much for the time you took to write your review. Because of you, I know other hurting people will find healing.

May the Lord continue to bless the work of your hands.

Hi Michelle, thank you for dropping by to make such a nice comment. :) Keep up the good work!

I work on two of the sites you have spotlighted. I just wanted to say thank you. We love what we do, and do it for the honor and glory of our Lord. As well as for the love of hurting people.

Hi Jill, I so enjoy hearing from all of you who work on these sites! You’re providing a great service to many people, so keep fighting the good fight! And if the opportunity arises, be sure to tell people about my site (perhaps even subscribe to my feed). ;)
